Product Press Releases
York, PA – January 7, 2016. American Cooling Technology (ACT) has released its newest In-Wall Evaporator products. The EV-96, and the EV-1 evaporators. The EV-96 evaporator is available in a capacity of up to 96,000 Btu/hr. IMACA, with the EV-1 evaporator following at a capacity of 60,000 Btu/hr. IMACA.
The EV-96 is designed to neatly fit into the rear wall of the vehicle. This unit is available with a durable ABS cover using fixed or adjustable louvers, or a slim metal face plate. In addition to these features the EV-96 is available with 12 Volt, or 24 Volt Motors.
The EV-1 in-wall evaporator is designed to fit into the front, or rear wall of a vehicle. The unit features a metal face plate available in white or grey. The EV-1’s Drop-in one-piece construction simplifies installation time and provides maximum head clearance and clean OEM appearance.
ACT developed the EV-96, and the EV-1 units based on feedback from customers, and an increased need for in-wall units in a greater selection of vehicles.
ACT’s in-wall evaporators are the result of research, engineering analysis, testing and final component selection from ACT’s experienced staff. York, PA - January 12, 2013. American Cooling Technology (ACT) has released its new family of skirt mount condensers for full production beginning March 1st 2013. The new universal mount CS-2, CS-32 and CS-3 (see photos) provides a universal mounting pattern which allows the AC installer and service technician the flexibility to select the best bolt pattern for the specific vehicle.
The Universal Condenser further expands ACT’s existing North American product line that includes a full range of split system and roof mounted air conditioning units for school and shuttle buses.
Based on market feedback from customers who participated in field trials, we’ve made the new condensers easier to install than competing skirt mount condensers. The new condensers are available in both 12 Volt and 24 Volt and can be supplied in capacities from 60,000Btu/hr. to 82,000 Btu/hr.
By providing the skirt mount condensers with a universal mounting pattern the AC installer can select from either the side by side or front and rear mounting bolt pattern. The new universal mount allows the service technician to replace any competing model of skirt condenser using the universal mount from ACT. This flexibility translates to less downtime, which is critical for bus fleets operating on tight budgets.
ACT’s universal mount condensers can be matched with other ACT components to provide a complete HVAC system that meets various vehicle sizes, duty cycles and geographic locations.

York, PA - January 03, 2012. American Cooling Technology (ACT) has recently ramped up to full production on its new high performance CR-4 roof mount condenser unit. The CR- 4 further expands ACT’s existing North American product line that includes a full range of split system air conditioning units including roof mounted units for school and shuttle buses.
Based on market feedback from customers who participated in field trials, we’ve made the CR-4 unit smaller and lighter than competing high capacity roof mount condensers. At less than 10 inches tall, the low height of the CR-4 unit increases roof clearance and provides a cleaner, sleeker look to the air conditioning installation. The low profile and tapered leading edge of the unit eliminates the need to install a branch guard typically required on a standard rooftop condenser.
The CR-4 is available in both 12 Volt and 24 Volt and can be supplied as a dual loop unit to be connected to two automotive style compressors or as a single loop to connect to a single high capacity transit compressor. This flexibility makes the CR-4 a good fit for both conventional- and hybrid-drive buses.
By relocating the air conditioningcondenser from the typical position under the bus floor to the roof of the bus, the capacity and operating efficiency of the air conditioning system improves because the system uses cleaner air from the top of the
bus through the unit’s heat exchanger.
All ACT Split Systems use non-ozone-depleting HFC-134a refrigerant and the CR-4 delivers a high cooling capacity (165,000 Btu/hr. IMACA). It also is easier to install than its predecessors. The design specifications of the CR-4 unit include a one-piece “drop in” construction to dramatically simplify and reduce the time it takes to complete the installation. In addition, the unit’s modular construction allows for improved access to internal components, making it easier to service. This translates to less downtime, which is critical for bus fleets operating on tight budgets.
ACT’s CR-4 rooftop condenser can be matched with other ACT components to provide a complete HVAC system that meets various vehicle sizes, duty cycles and geographic locations.
